Hullabaloo

Here's a visual development piece I did for Hullabaloo!  Inspired by my own elementary and highschool experience!  You can read the story about it on their Facebook Post.  It's such a great project and I'm really excited to be working on it!

Animation Art Show

Here is the piece I donated to the Animation Art Show, an auction taking place in Dublin, Ireland in support of Irish children's charities.  The fundraiser takes place October 17, 18 & 19.  This is an amazing event, you can see the video from 2013!  (My illustration from last year is at 0:28sec)

Oberyn Martell

Here's a title credit for the character of Oberyn Martell (from the Game of Thrones series) inspired by the style of Alexander Lindberg.  It was so much fun to explore a simplified design but stay true to capturing the character.  I'm considering doing more of the cast!

Baobhan Sith

Too much work and chaos to get through these days, and I didn't get a chance to participate in Sketch Dailies this week.  I decided to take some time this morning to do a colour sketch for the Baobhan Sith theme from earlier this week, if I was to take time for one Sketch Daily this week, this was the theme that peaked my interest the most!  I love mythology, so I always enjoy those themes when they are posted! :)

Merida Takes Aim

Here is the Pixar's Brave piece I did for Pixart!  I had a lot of fun redesigning Merida, and am really grateful to have been considered and showcased in the August feature.

Princess Leia

I just found out the Sketch Dailies' theme was Princess Leia and despite being swamped there was no way that I was going to pass up that theme! It was destiny; two things that I love, drawing and Star Wars, converging together.  So I had to do a quick colour sketch this evening to make it in time!

Gibson Girl

Here's a 5 minute sketch from a Charles Dana Gibson costumed life drawing session.  Derwent Drawing Pencils on Newsprint.

Retro Aviator

Trying out a 1950s rendering style for an art direction assignment.  Only Black and White and one colour allowed!  It's fun working with restrictions and in a simple style to try to find ways to communicate the design.  This is my design of Ace M.H.Hughes, Aviator Extraordinaire!

Nike

Didn't have a lot of time, but I had to do a quick sketch for Sketch Dailies on my coffee break.  I wish I could try to colour her but there just isn't time.  That being the case, I couldn't pass up Nike!

Pride & Prejudice

We had a Jane Austen themed costume model at life drawing.  Judith is a fantastic costume model as she is a character actress and really gets into her roles.  Always really fun to draw!

Wild West

Just some 2 to 3 minute sketches of a Wild West themed life drawing session.  The model was really great, and even held the facial expressions for the duration of the poses!

Sleeping Beauty

Just a quick colour sketch for Sketch Dailies. The original sketch was on a notepad with a Sharpy while I was on the phone, but I thought I'd colour it, I need to keep practicing with Photoshop until it gets comfortable!

Storm

I felt guilty about not participating in Sketch Dailies in a while, so I scribbled a 2 minute Storm sketch for the daily theme between poses during my life drawing session.  It's a bit rough but at least I won't go too long without breaking the Sketch Dailies tradition!  Pencil on Newsprint.

Todays' Sketch Dailies theme was Monkey King. Such a fun idea! I'm so swamped with work though, I just wish I had more time, but I wanted to do something for this theme today. Sketch dailies has been great for me to practice colour sketches. So here's a fast Sun Wukong sketch, just wish I could squeeze in more time!

Three Blind Mice - String Trio

Really fast colour sketch for sketch dailies.  I wasn't initially inspired by the theme but then I started thinking about how developed your other senses are if sight is removed, and I thought about how they would feel and enjoy music... So this was my fast last minute sketch once I finally came up with an idea.  I wanted to try keeping it really graphic, so it had more of an old school jazz feel to it.

Sketch Dailies theme of the day was Selfie.  Yesterday was a long day, but I managed to get a fast sketch in before bedtime!

Last weeks' life drawing theme was inspired by Charles Dana Gibson and his iconic Gibson Girls.  Such a fun costume theme to draw!  I just wish I had a scanner, but for now phone photos will have to do!

Sketch dailies had a centaur theme this week, I had to do a tribute to Fred Moore style Fantasia centaurs.  I love his drawings!
